SOUTH AFRICA COVID-19 STANDING POINT
One of Africa’s most developed countries is still suffering from the deadly pandemic covid-19 virus variant and as of today, a total of 8.82% meaning 1376 cases out of 15599 tests were reported to be positive for Covid-19.
A total of 219 406 people have been admitted to hospital after contracting Covid-19, according to data reported to the NICD by 642 hospitals. 152 762 these patients were discharged, and 43 373 died while in hospital.
As of 8 February, 11 835 people were admitted in hospitals around the country, 1 898 of them in ICU and 1 096 patients were on a ventilator.
